CMYK vs Pantone on Luxury Packaging
When four-colour process is enough — and when only spot Pantone matches will protect brand equity.
CMYK builds vast colour ranges but drifts across runs and substrates. Pantone spot inks lock a brand colour to a chemical formula — mandatory for signature hues (Tiffany, Hermès orange) but costly at scale. Most luxury projects combine both: CMYK imagery with 1–2 Pantone spot anchors.
